Gaelic Games enthusiasts have reason to celebrate as the home nation sports councils of Sport England, Sport Scotland and Sport Wales have officially recognised Gaelic Games as a sport in Britain. Alongside this announcement, the three sports councils have formally recognised Gaelic Games Council of Britain as the national governing body for the sport in England, Scotland and Wales.
This recognition reflects the confidence that Gaelic Games makes a real difference to ambitions for accessibility, participation and development across our communities.
