Safeguarding

The Gaelic Games Council of Britain (GGCB) is committed to creating and maintaining the safest possible environment for all children under the age of 18 and vulnerable adults who take part in our games and activities.

As a basic requirement, anyone who works with children under the age of 18 and vulnerable adults in any way must have undergone DBS (in England and Wales) or PVG (in Scotland) checks.

Anyone who is involved in coaching or mentoring children under the age of 18 and vulnerable adults, in addition to undergoing DBS or PVG checks, must also:

  1. Complete at least the foundation coaching course for the relevant sport; and
  2. Complete the Ethics Course (which covers Child Protection, Reporting and our Codes)

Please contact childrensofficer.britain@gaa.ie should you require further details regarding DBS or PVG applications or Courses.
