Britain GAA and Breakthrough Maths Continue Educational Partnership for 2027
Britain GAA is delighted to continue our educational partnership with Breakthrough Maths UK for the 2027 season, following a successful first year working together. As part of the renewed partnership, Breakthrough Maths will be involved in the ABC Tournament 2027, one of the key events in the Britain GAA calendar, as well as the Northern Games. Both events will provide an opportunity for Breakthrough Maths to meet young players, parents and clubs from across Britain, and further strengthen their connection with our Gaelic Games community.
Supporting Young Players On and Off the Pitch
At Britain GAA, we know that being part of a GAA club is about much more than playing sport. Our clubs play an important role in helping young people develop confidence, friendships, discipline and a sense of community. Education is another important part of their development, and we recognise that balancing schoolwork with training and matches isn’t always easy. For many young players, particularly those preparing for GCSEs and other exams, the demands of school and sport can often overlap. We never want young people to feel they have to choose between the two. That’s where our partnership with Breakthrough Maths comes in. By providing accessible, flexible online maths tuition, Breakthrough Maths can help take some of the academic pressure off young players and their families, allowing them to continue enjoying their Gaelic Games while receiving support with their education.
Supporting Our Clubs and Their Communities
Breakthrough Maths’ online approach is particularly suited to young players with busy schedules. With live classes and recordings available, students can fit additional maths support around their training, matches and other commitments. Following the positive experience of working together last season, we’re pleased to continue building a relationship that supports young people in both their sporting and academic lives.
An important part of this partnership is ensuring that both our young players and their local GAA clubs benefit. Through the partnership, participating GAA clubs can offer their members an exclusive 50% discount on Breakthrough Maths’ online tuition programme, reducing the monthly cost from £99 to £49 per student. The partnership also provides a direct benefit to the clubs themselves. For every successful new member signup, the participating GAA club receives the student’s first month’s tuition fee (£49) directly back.
The programme supports Primary, GCSE and A-Level Maths students, providing four live online classes each week, alongside recordings and additional learning resources. This means families can access additional educational support at a reduced cost, while their local clubs receive financial support to reinvest in their own activities and communities. We see this as another way of supporting the wider GAA family, recognising the important role that parents, coaches and volunteers play in helping young people develop.
Looking Ahead to the ABC Tournament 2027
We’re particularly pleased that Breakthrough Maths will be involved in the ABC Tournament in 2027, alongside their involvement in the Northern Games. The ABC Tournament is a fantastic celebration of Gaelic Games in Britain, bringing together young players, families, coaches and volunteers from across our clubs. Having Breakthrough Maths involved provides an opportunity to highlight the importance of supporting young people beyond the playing field, while helping more families become aware of the educational support available through the partnership. We’re delighted to continue working with Breakthrough Maths, who share that outlook, and look forward to another positive year together, both on and off the pitch.
