Data Protection

All of our members require their membership to complete individual membership registration forms. Those forms record amongst other things:

  • (i) Name
  • (ii) Date of Birth
  • (iii) Postal Address
  • (iv) Email address
  • (v) Phone number

Our members membership registration forms contain a very important disclosure statement which sets out how the data collected in the registration forms will be dealt with.

Our members and the Gaelic Games Council of Britain promise that any data collected from you will not be sold to any external sources.

The data will not be disclosed to any external sources (except the Dispute Resolution Authority where applicable) without your express consent.

The data will only be stored, processed and used for:

  • ​(a) Cumann Lúthchleas Gael (the GAA),
  • (b) the Ladies Gaelic Football Association (the LGFA),
  • (c) The Camogie Association (CA),
    • their component units (namely Club, the County Committee to which the Club is affiliated, the Provincial Council or Board to which the County Committee is affiliated, the GAA, LGFA, CA Central Council or those whose jurisdiction is derived from the aforementioned units) and
  •  (d) The Gaelic Games Council of Britain (GGCB) purposes;

which includes but is not limited to:

  • maintaining a membership database,
  • activities relating to games,
  • disciplinary action (all matters arising from disciplinary action – including matters before the Dispute Resolution Authority),
  • training/coaching courses,
  • Disclosure and Barring Service/Protecting Vulnerable Groups applications/certifications/correspondence,
  • Safeguarding Audits/Reporting,
  • Players Injury Scheme/Insurance claims,
  • Inter Club/County transfers/ declarations, sanctions/permits and
  • correspondence relating to the GAA, LGFA, CA and/or GGCB matters.

The data will be stored on the GAA’s, LGFA, CA Central Membership Database and GAA’s, LGFA’s, CA’s cloud platforms which are housed on secured, encrypted, third party servers and on the secured, encrypted hard drive of the GGCB’s Safeguarding Officer’s computer, all of which are located in the EU and/or UK and will be stored in accordance with the relevant legislation, from time to time in place.
